At One Herd we work with equine facilitated programs to foster self-awareness and reflection. Through learning to work with the horses, individuals learn about themselves in ways that can bring about profound change, empowerment and personal development.

The horses are co-facilitators in the process. With compassion and humility, they assist in many ways, including modelling emotional self-regulation. As such, horses are like biofeedback mechanisms and can have physiological and calming effects and can assist in human self-regulation (Fine, 2010). Working with various activities on the ground with the horses, individual and group programs provide a multi-sensory experience.

Equine facilitated learning is able to assist all ages with greater connection to self, clearer boundaries, confidence, resilience and the ability to be true and present in life.

Currently One Herd works in the Margaret River region. It is possible to come to you if you are outside this region. We also work in partnership with assisting professionals and mental health workers if required.
